What A Week

Well it has been one busy week. Last week I had something going on everyday, Mayme had two more teeth removed, Lydia had her preschool screening, and George had his 9 month check up. Mayme did real well this time with her teeth. When we finished with her appointment we went and visited my Grandma in the hospital. She tripped on a sidewalk, fell and broke her nose. I was almost thrown back by seeing my sweet grandma all swollen and black and blue. Mayme did real well. She doesn't like to see anyone hurt, but she was a trooper and did real well. It helped that grandma shared a chocolate shake with her. : ) I think when she heard and saw my grandma moving around like normal she got over what she looked like. She stayed in the hospital a few days and then was in the nursing home and I think going home today. She was ready to get out of there before she even went in.

Work has slowed down at Paul's work place. There have been some layoffs so we just keep hoping he keeps his job. He's a really hard worker, but there are a lot of hard workers out there who are losing jobs simply because. He worked one night last week and then they had everyone take the week off so he at least had the PTO for it and we got to spend time together. We will see how this week goes.

Lydia did real well with her preschool screening. She needed 71 to pass and she had 83. During her speech portion they showed a picture of a girl walking up the stairs and a boy walking down the stairs. When the volunteer asked Lydia what was happening in the picture she replied that the Girl was on the stairs. But what is she doing on the stairs? Lydia said "She's walking up to meet her boyfriend." (YIKES!) Of course when asked what the boy was doing? He was going to meet his girlfriend. It was fun to run across people who know Mayme from school. One of the perks if you have a decent kid and they have a unique name. Oh Mayme, I know her! (or ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, Mayme if they are not so decent). Lydia will have Ms Diana who was Mayme's preschool teacher and we are so excited about that. They just chatted up a storm together and I know she will have a fun time.

George is doing good. The best part was that he didn't even get shots this time. He's almost 19 pounds and I forgot how tall. I am so excited for summer to play outside with all the kids and go swimming!!

Thursday night was my first time playing Bunco. A girl and my work place thought it would be fun to get a group from work and play once a month. We will be known at the Belles of Bunco. (The Elementary are the Babes of Bunco). It was a lot of fun and nice to get out of the workplace and spend time together.

I got to see 2 really good movies this weekend. Gran Torino and Slumdog Millionaire. Both just excellent.

Tomorrow it's back to the grindstone.
