You Can Do It!

So I have a few days off of work since my mother-in-law is in Medjugorje. Today was so exciting. George woke up as his happy little self and when I put him on the floor I was amazed to see him get up on his knees and his elbows and instead of crawling he hopped. Like he would move his arms forward and bounce off the floor from his knees and move forward. It was the coolest thing ever! Of course me being amazed, praised the child, then moved the toys as far away as I could to make him go for them and do it again. I was just so thankful to be home to see that. Today we met up with my grandma and a friend for lunch. Now that George eats solids and drinks juice it's a lot easier to be out and about. Of course only for so long, but he and Lydia did real well. We are getting ready for Hallow's Eve. I will have a ninja, a barbie princess and a horse. You most likely can guess who will be who.

I better get some sleep. A month ago I joked with the kids that they could wrap me in toilet paper for Halloween. They haven't forgotten that and I don't think they got that it was joke.....so who knows...they may have a mummy mommy!

If Only We Could All Be Princesses

So the other day Lydia and I were looking at a picture of a mother and her baby. Lydia says, "Mom, I wanna have a baby." To which I say, "Someday you will get married and have babies." "Um, no.....I wanna be a princess." I wished her good luck with that. It would be fun though if we could all be princesses. We love the show "Jane and the Dragon" so I am thinking Mayme would be a knight in training like Jane. I wouldn't mind living in a castle either.

It's Goes Too Fast

So MEA wasn't much fun. Plus it always goes by fast. Myself and the kids were all sick with colds. In a way it was nice because I could rest as much as I needed yet at the same time I had plans to get things done around the house. Oh well. In a couple of weeks my mother-in-law is going on a trip so I will be taking off some days of work to watch the kids. Although I doubt I will get anything done then either. We did have some friends over on Friday night though which was fun. Lydia and Ralph just chat, chat, chat. Lydia usually comes downstairs once a night after I put her to sleep and says she has to ask me a question and then just rambles on because she's not ready for bed. Although Friday night she came down and I asked her what she needed and she says "um, I need to ask Ralph a question." They're pals. Lydia is so cute and I don't know where she learned these things. Like tonight she asked me to read her "The 12 Dancing Princesses". I told her it was too late and she says, but mom please, please, it's my absolute favorite! Or the other night she wanted to sleep with me and I told her no. Then she says, but mom you love me!! I told her that I do love her, but told her she still couldn't sleep with me. Then she says, but you got all that space over there!" She just says these things so cute. She still didn't get to sleep with me though.

Mayme told me this morning her top 3 things she wants to be when she grows up are a paleontologist, an artist and a scientist. Then she said that a scientist and paleontologist were close enough so she was adding a horse trainer to that as well. She is always questioning us and is quite the individual thinker, but never rude about it. I can definintely see a little scientist there. Plus she is really into wanting to build inventions and also started building a teepee out in the backyard. My mom got a new karaoke machine so she was kind enough to not only give us hers, but all her discs as well. YIPPEE! I can't wait to get some disney ones so the girls have a bit more fun with familiar songs. Tonight I sang "In My Daughter's Eyes" and Mayme was being all cozy and it sounded like I was crying (which she never fails to give me a hard time about) and I told her that my nose was drippy and that was all. Then I got to the last verse :

In my daughter's eyes, I can see the future.
A reflection of who I am,
And what will be.
And though she'll grow and some day, leave:
Maybe raise a family,
When I'm gone, I hope you'll see,
How happy she made me,
For I'll be there, in my daughter's eyes.

Which of course I always lose it when listening to that song so I start choking up and finish it up. Then Mayme actually complains that she is starting to tear up and then while trying not to cry she was kind of laughing and then burst in to all out tears and says "I don't like that song. Promise me you'll never sing it again". So of course I start crying even more. Lydia just looked at us and was like let's sing another one!

George is about 5 1/2 months now. He's good at getting around. In the last week he's gotten a hold of two magazines that were on the floor and a dryer sheet. So I am starting to REALLY be more aware of what I am leaving around. I can't believe it's Halloween already next week!

And ......GO!

So seriously the last time I updated this was in August???!?!?!? And here George is almost 5 months old! That is crazy and I sincerely apologize. My computer is so slow that it takes forever to get to where I even need to get to blog. Tonight I am at my mom's house sitting and George for the moment is content on the floor so I will type as much as I can before he is in need of me.
As I said he will be 5 months old next week. The week before he turned for months he started rolling over and since then he rolls to get to where he wants to go. It is so much fun to set him down turn around and then find he is somewhere else. Thank goodness we have a small living room so he's pretty easy to find. He is big on getting on his knees and his toes, but hasn't quite gotten hang of using those arms. He seems content to just push his face in the floor for now. The girls are so good with him and are a HUGE help. Esepcially Mayme. She will pick him up and hold him if he's getting fussy if I'm not able to. He is a sweet little boy. I can't believe how much he is growing and how fast. We have tried some cereal and juice, but he didn't seem to excited about it so this next month we shall try again. This afternoon I laid down with him and I woke up to him hitting me in the face. He loves to grab my glasses and hair. He now sleeps in the crib for most of the night. He will sleep about 7 to 8 hours in there and then I bring him in bed with me. Some mornings he wakse up when I do, which can be hard when Paul is still at work, but we make it work. I try to pump in the morning before I leave for work, pump twice at work, and pump at night. So far I am able to keep up. Another reason that will be nice when he starts eating food...I won't be so worried that we might run out of milk.
Lydia is doing well with us being back at work and school. Enjoys her time with Grandma and George. I hear she is a big help. I know it was hard for the first couple of weeks for her to get used to not having Grandma one on one, but they still are finding time to share. George loves the outdoors and being in his stroller and tries to sit up as straight as he can. He loves to watch Lydia swing.
Mayme is enjoying 3rd grade. The firs week of school we spent one night doing 40 minutes of homework....I think it was getting into the swing of things. Things are going much more smoothly. She says that Science is here favorite subject besides (lunch, recess, and free time). I got to go on a field trip with her and the kids in here class are awesome and lots of fun. They would tell me how much they liked Mayme, or how nice she was and even that she and I look a like. She rides the bus home most days, but I try to pick her up once a week just for old times sake.
As for me. Work is going well. Very busy, but I think we are finally getting over the very busy part of it all. There is always something to do which makes the days go by fast. It's hard to believe that October is here. We have our Halloween costumes ready to go and have out the candy corn. Thoughts of Christmas are floating in and out of our minds. I have a feeling the rest of the year is going to fly by.
George is now calling for me so I will end here. Hope to write more soon.
