Um, Excuse Me

So we are on day three of school and Mayme is still loving it. Last night she was actually pretending to be a teacher. I remember doing that when I was a kid, but I have never seen her do that so it showed me things must be going well. As I've probably mentioned her and Ryan are not in the same class, but apparently their rooms switch for a class so Mayme told me she got to sit in Ryan's desk. When I asked how that happened she said there had been someone sitting there, but she just went over to them and said "Excuse me, this is where my boyfriend sits so can I sit here please?" Apparently it worked. Then she was telling me that she asked a boy on the bus if he liked her backpack and he said "who cares". She said she did nothing and I started to say that older kids tend to think it's cool....and she cut me off and said "Oh, he was just jealous". She cracks me up. When she is hurt she lets it show, but for the most part she is really good at letting things roll off her shoulders.

Onto other news for me. It turns out they are hiring for someone to take my place so I can have the title of secretary along side the main secretary. I knew I would be working in the office somewhat this school year, but had no idea it would turn into this, but I think I will like it. Plus I should be moved up on the pay scale so that would come in very handy too. So it is exciting.

Second Grade

Well we all hit the sack early last night and were rested up for today. That doesn't mean I didn't cringe just a bit when the alarm went off. I was really surprised at how ready May was to get up and get ready. She hasn't been really sure about if she was ready to go back or not, but today you wouldn't have known. She was already and ready to go to the end of the driveway to wait for the bus all by herself. Paul waited until she got down there and then went and waited with her. I too had a good day and was very excited to hear how her day was. She said she had a great time. "School is so easy!" she said when I picked her up. Every road that we travel on seems to be under construction so it took me an extra half hour to get home. I was so tired and ready to get home. Lydia was so excited to see us both and came running over to the door to greet us. This evening she wanted to play with May's backpack, but instead I got May's backpack from kindergarten so she has been having fun running around talking about going to school and riding the bus. One day down. :)
