Can it be?

I am so horrible at this I am thinking of ending it. I keep meaning to write and the time keeps slipping. I only have a million things I suppose I could write about. I will start with what a nice Christmas we had. The girls both really enjoyed the gifts they got. The girls have been cooking not stop for us in their play kitchen. We got Lydia a baby and a whole set of baby things. Crib, high chair, stroller and I was amazed to see Mayme play with the baby more than Lydia. She is still a bit of a girly girl after all. :) We had a lovely day off the Thursday before Christmas which I managed to get in and get the rest of my shopping done. It wasn't too crazy either except for the 40 minutes I spent trying to locate my husband and daughters. We must have constantly been circling eachother in the store. The 23rd we spent the evening at my mom and stepdad's with mye siblings, nieces, and nephews. It is always a nice time and my mom makes lasagna...it's about the only time I eat it throughout the year, but Mayme really likes it so I told her I would make some. Of course it has to be Grandma's recipe. We have fun giving white elephant gifts and this year I ran away with NSync Brittney Spears cd. My husband got a horrible Arnold Schwarzneggar (I'm sure I flubbed that up) dvd. Last year my nephew wrapped it up with matches so whoever got it could burn it, but apparently my brother watched and somewhat enjoyed it and then decided to give someone else the opportunity to watch it. I gave away a whole coffee can of socks that had no matches. I always wondered what to do with those. How long am I to hang on to them before giving up in the search. Sunday night we went to my dad's where the girls opened gifts followed by us going home and opening presents. We set out Christmas cookies and left Santa a glass to get his own milk because we didn't want it to get warm and then we went to bed. Mayme swore she heard bells last year so she was hoping she would hear them again. I was surprised to find myself up Christmas morning before Mayme. We saw santa had visited and more opening of presents occurred. We went to my dad's Monday night and then Tuesday had my mother-in-law over. We were very blessed for all the time we got to spend with eachother and the gifts that were given. The last couple of days I have been taking it easy. Friday we got to go to a birthday party for a very special monkey. It was such a fun time!! The birthday girl was adorable and it was nice to see her mom and dad. On the way home he girls both slept the whole ride home and Mayme actually slept for about another 2 hours once we got home. It takes a lot to tire her out. The last couple of days we went to see a couple of movies. We took May to see Night at the Museum which we loved. It was simple, but fun. We also took her to see Charlotte's Web. It was good, but I still love the book first and cartoon second. It's hard to look at Dakota Fanning and see Fern. Well that's enough for now.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Well here it is almost the end of another month and I have hardly written at all!! I cannot believe Christmas is almost upon. I am really missing the snow. We may get our chance at a snowstorm at Thursday so I am hoping. I have a few more presents I could get, but am otherwise done. It's hard because May is so easy to by for that I find things all over, but I wanted to keep the girls down to a few gifts each. A game, a book, and a toy. We are getting them a kitchen though to share. I always wanted one and now that I have kids I want them to have one. I've been holding on to it since October so I will be real excited when they can open it. Things are going good here. From the last time I wrote I celebrated my 29th birthday. I went out that evening with dad and grandma for supper. It was just real nice and quiet. I got many birthday wishes...quite a few before my birthday, but that was okay. My mom seems to always hit it a day early or late. It's quite funny. I always love birthday greetings, but the most are from those I've known the longest. There's just something about a letter, e-mail, or card from an old friend. :)

The same week as my birthday Mayme lost her second tooth. So now she is missing her two front bottom teeth. She was so excited because this one she lost at school and she actually had it. She bit into an apple and when she pulled it away she saw her tooth right there on the apple. She brought home a sheet of paper the other day saying that the kids are going to do a week of roller skating for PE and so we needed to sign a consent for a pay for rental of skates. I told her she could as long as she promised not break anything. Please say a little prayer for the first week of January. That's when they will be doing this. I actually think it's pretty cool. We had a little Christmas dinner tonight with a couple of friends and Mayme was so excited to receive a hat that looks like a dragon's head. She hasn't taken it off since she got it. Lydia got some cute clothes and I was shocked to see one of the articles of clothing is actually trademarked with the name Lydia Jane. I never knew. So it's nice that the outfit is already labeled for her. Tonight Mayme was talking about how she was wearing slap jacks and my friends looked at me and asked what those were. I asked May what she was talking about it and she was talking about Long Johns. Long Johns and Slap Jacks...easy mistake. It was quite funny.

Loo too!

Tonight was the cutest thing. L and I were in my bedroom while I was trying to get some pictures from October transfered from the camera to the computer. She found a small backpack of M's and started walking out of the room. I said "Are you going to school?" and she said "Yep" to which she started closing the door and I said I love you and she said "loo too". For awhile now she's been saying "too" when I tell her I love her, but now it's "loo too". She would come back into the room and I would say Hi and ask her how her day was and she would say good. Then it started all over. It was nice to have a cute moment considering tonight was a fascination with the toilet night. First she was flushing the toilet and then I caught her putting her hands in the toilet and last but not least she put almost a whole roll of tp in the toilet. So she definently needed a cute moment to get back on my good side. M was watching Cars this evening and L was watching it too so I went back up to my room to continue working on the pictures and sure enough in about three minutes time I heard yell up "Ma!!" and I heard her say to herself "Buh bye cars" and close the door and then she came up to visit me.

Last night we had M's Christmas concert. It was a cold night, but it was so nice that we got there early enough to get a good parking spot. Unfortunately a lot of space was already filled inside so we got a spot where we couldn't even see M. That was kind of sad and then we forgot the video camera. But it was still a great concert and L behaved herself which made it more enjoyable as well. M gave us her Christmas present she was working on at school. Last year it was coffee mugs decorated by her and this year was a calendar. Every month has a different picture that she made in art class. I absolutely love it!!! These are the things that make school so enjoyable. All the things they make and bring home. I love it!! Tonight she seemed kind of down and she told me how one of the older kids was kind of being a bully and so we talked about how last year she was having issues with some of the boys, but then Ryan moved to town and became her best friend. She was quick to say "I fell in love with Ryan". I was like, um.........ok.

Tomorrow is my big birthday. I have already been wished happy birthday 5 times in the last two days. My birthday is just surrounded with just too much scurrying for Christmas I think. I just look at it like I get to celebrate more than one day so it's all good.
